Answer: The answer to that question, biologically, is found in the energy-producing dynamos within your cells called mitochondria.
When young, our cells have innate protection against mitochondrial degeneration. As time marches on, the cellular energy production becomes damaged, like a motor that gets worn out. Scientist have found that once mitochondrial dysfunction starts, that it takes approximately 10 years to result in permanent damage-permanent aging.
